Remote File Manager App Reviews

After trying many different apps to access my Windows shares from my iPad I came across this one. I just works, plain and simple! It takes seconds to setup and then works flawlessly! Thank you!

Faster than my mac accesing my time capsule. And also can watch/hear all my media files like they are in my ipad or iphone.

Update: 12/27/14 After a lot of dickering with the app, I was finally able to get it to work with my router to allow port forwarding for remote access to my NAS. Nevertheless, I will not rate it any higher than three stars because of lack of support from the developer.

It is nice for playing music or reading documents on my windows 7 server, but if my server has been up for a while Remote Files often cant find it.

Its a great app. I can watch my movies stored in time capsule in my Apple TV! Could add: show the covers of the files.

I really like the interface of Remote File Manager but its broken. The app does not work when trying to access files from Time Capsule to iPad. I followed the tutorial with no success, and received absolutely no help from support. I would get a response from support several days after asking a question that was irrelevant to my initial request. I downloaded OplayerHD and had no issues connecting to my TC, save your money and time on this one.

It didnt blow me out of the water, but it does what its intended to do.

I use this awesome app to easily access files, video, audio, PDFs. Seagate and time capsule files.

I have a home network drive that I needed to be able to access via Wi-Fi. This app does the job with flying colors. I can move photos off my iPhone 6 to this drive. I can watch movies stored on the drive. In fact, it streams and plays the files faster and without buffering. Works better than my Plex app. Its so nice to find a file manager app that does what is says it can do without a lot of hassle. It also creates thumbs of photos, which many of the other file managers do not. They act more like FTP clients instead.

Can be a little slow from time to time but works good.

Was looking for an app that would stream WMV files through a router network drive and this specifies that it does support WMV file format. However, there is NO SOUND ON WMV format nor slider control for these files. Bummer!

Just saw a new update today that fixes WMV file issues so I promptly downloaded it. Good news is that the sound issue is fixed but the video slider on the player still does not work for those WMV files that originally had sound issues. When I used a different app like Qfile HD, it lets me use the slider control so I know it can be done. Thanks for the sound fix and if the slider issue is fixed, this app will get my five star.. Good work!

Excellent app, I can access my in house drives with no problems

This application has allowed me to consolidate files in one location and save tons of space on my iPad Air. Before I got this application I had multiple copies of the same file from opening them in different applications. This application is seen by all of the applications I use for the different file format that I commonly use. Without now once I edit the file in one application I open it and this application and delete it from the original Application that I made the changes in. The only thing that I wish it had was an option to add to my iCloud storage.

This app is much better than the other file browser type apps. Its faster and plays multiple video types that no other app can do well. The only thing missing is SFTP so we can connect remotely from an outside network. That would make this the perfect app!

Love this app for local and remote file management. It supports several types of media and is well designed.

This is the app you must have. This is the app that airdrop was supposed to be. You can copy ANY file to your device via wifi. It just works great! You can also even manage your computer files from your iOS device.

Works perfectly with Time Capsule. This is the ONLY app I have found to work with Time Capsule…. I could not be happier with this app as both a way to connect to my Time Capsule, but also as a file manager and media player. I have been using this app for over year now and absolutely love it. Highly recommended, especially if you want to transfer files to and from your iPad or iPhone to your Time Capsule WIRELESSLY to archive videos and photos to free up space on my mobile devices.
